Halloween and a Play

Zone Council

This week we attended our zone council.
The zone leaders and sister training leaders provide training for us.

Trunk or Treat was held at our chapel on Saturday night.
The Brazilians are starting to adapt to the American culture.  Halloween is not celebrated in Brazil.

This week we attended a middle school play that feature Cole Stevenson as Bert in Mary Poppins.  We were impressed with the talent of these young kids.
Katie Stevenson's mother, Laura, and Nate Stevenson's mother, Lisa, both flew from Utah to attend and watch their grandson.  Lisa and her husband, Bob, have moved back into our ward in Layton.

One of our special friends.
Each week we teach Reila English.

The Family

Our grandson, Roman, participated in a bike rally for children.  All of the kids were given a ticket for a raffle.
To our surprise, Roman had the winning ticket and won a new bike.  He is one happy boy.

The Missionary Couple of the Week

Elder and Sister Moraes have been serving as the mission office couple in Cape Verde.  Please note the beautiful dress and African tie.
Tomorrow they go home after serving for 18 months.  They are from Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil which is one of the areas where I briefly served over 45 years ago.

The Missionaries

Elder Araújo from João Pessoa, Brazil and Elder Swanson from Arizona.
Elder Araújo could only speak Portuguese when he arrived.  Now he is fluent in English and Spanish also.  Elder Swanson also has a good command of the Portuguese language.

So ends another week.
