Transfer Day and Bishops Storehouse

Transfer Day

On Tuesday we met at the Lilburn Stake Center for transfer day.
Transfer day occurs every six weeks.  New missionaries arrive and those missionaries that have completed their missions return home.

On this transfer day, 22 missionaries left and 21 missionaries arrived.
We met in the chapel and the departing missionaries were able to say a few thoughts about their missions.  The new missionaries were introduced and then met their trainer companions.

On Thursday the zone leaders and sister training leaders met with the entire zone (we are in the Roswell Zone) and presented the zone goals for this transfer period.
The leaders are preparing to introduce a new video, "The Christ Child", for this Christmas season.  This video is a beautiful part of the LightTheWorld campaign.  It can be seen at comeuntochrist.org.

The Bishops Storehouse

On Saturday we drove to the Bishops Storehouse just east of Atlanta to fulfill a welfare assignment which was to package and fill food orders for families in need.
Our small branch was well represented.

Each order was filled with fresh vegetables, dairy products, packaged food and frozen meats including turkeys.  The food was put in plastic bags and then placed in plastic containers.  The containers were stacked and loaded on trucks to be distributed to various sites throughout the area.
Sister Erickson and Suzie worked together.
The Missionary Couple of the Week

Elder and Sister Mansius served as Member and Leadership support missionaries in a small branch in Ellijay, a remote part of the mission in Northern Georgia.
They have completed their mission and briefly returned home to Texas before accepting another special assignment in Palmyra, New York.

At this time of the year Sister Erickson and I want to thank everyone for your support and interest.  We wish all of you a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving.
