A Birthday Party, Helping Hands and Fish

A Birthday Party

On Friday night we attended a birthday party for a young girl turning 12 years old.
Sheronly had several friends attend plus a couple of old people.

A picture of the family.  James, Sheronly, and Karina in the back.  Shontelle in front.
James Tavares is a counselor in the stake presidency and is employed by the church as the Self-reliance director for several of the islands.

Regardless of where we go, Sister Erickson always attracts young children.

Helping Hands

Mindelo 2nd ward had a service project where we cleaned up the grounds around the hospital.
Members and missionaries alike showed up to do the work.

We even had yellow vests to wear.

Painting the curbs and walls was included.
Sister Marks, Sister Carvalho and Sister Williams brighten the area not only with paint but with their smiles as well.

The trash was hauled away in wheelbarrows.  Four or five dumpsters were filled.
Elder Coleman and Elder Costa share a light moment.

The Fish Market

We enjoy going to the fish market to get fresh fish.
It is surprising to find such a wide variety of species available.

We just enjoy looking at all of the fish.
This one looks like it has an attitude.

Holy Mackerel!

I like the fish with the yellow dots on the tail.

I'll do what you want me to do

Every six weeks we do apartment inspections.
Sister Forsyth and Sister Ayers.  Sister Forsyth is from Scotland and speaks Portuguese with a Scottish accent.

Don't let the bed bugs bite!!
Unfortunately Elder Flake has bed bugs in his apartment.

A few of the missionaries are admiring his leg.
A thumbs up from the Sisters.
The Couple of the Week

Elder and Sister Fotheringham
They serve as humanitarian aid missionaries in Albania.

Sunday Dinner

It is always a treat to have the missionaries for Sunday dinner.
Last week we fed Elder Martinez from Puerto Rico and Elder Fermino from Brazil.

This week we had Elder Smith from California and Elder Coleman from Utah.
So ends another week.  Take care!
